President’s Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order at 7:17 p.m. by Jane Trainham.

Secretary’s Report:

The secretary’s report was given by Sue Lindsay and approved; it was posted at the website and also available at the meeting for review.

Treasurer’s Report:

The treasurer’s report was given by Tricia Hastings. The financial information is complete through the end of February 2005; a preliminary accounting of the financial information was also given for the March NADAC trial.

Training Report:

Mary Marshall reported that training classes are going well. The new beginner class is abouthalfwaythrough.Thereweresomechangesmadeinthe beginner class which have been implemented in the current class, and Mary Marshall said she’d have an idea of how that is working out by the next meeting, as that class will be wrapping up by then.

Membership Report:

Shari Kolding reported that there is a FAQ link on the K9X website now.  She suggested that prospective members be directed to that site for answers to routine questions prior to contacting her directly.

New Member Voting:

The membership voted 15-0 to approve the membership application of Kim Roche.

Seminar Update:

The Penny Winegartner seminar held on March 11 at the Hays County Civic Center prior to our NADAC trial was a great success. Club members who were not able to attend were encouraged to take advantage of upcoming seminars when available. Her website is: www.pawsitiveimpact.com

March NADAC Trial update:

The trial went very well. Between the Trial entries, Show N Go entries, Judge’s dinner and Seminar, the proceeds totaled $14,858.00. The expenses are not all in at this point, but the final tally should put us at about a 6,000.00 profit for hosting the trial.

On the down side, the computer software utilized for tabulating the trial results was disappointing at best. Tricia Hastings is still working on some bugs, and although the data is correct, there will be some extra effort expended before the results can be exported to NADAC.

Field Issues:

Raking the field will still have to wait for sunny weather.

The new tires for tire jumps are here, and we have two sizes purchased. They will be taped and installed in the near future.

The front gate to Wikazri field is operating much better following lubrication.

The two combination locks will be replaced within the next two weeks. Suzanne Antonowich has that on her list to do.

Two new extra large crates have been purchased, taken to the field and set up for use.

The new teeter board is finished and awaiting good dry weather for painting and installing. Sue Lindsay and Tricia Hastings are coordinating that project.

The dog walk is also fairly slippery, and will also be given an extra coat of sand/paint when the weather permits.

Field Equipment:

Automatic timers: It was approved that Wade research and present at the next meeting the cost and feasibility of K9X purchasing automatic timers for our trials.

Video camera/storage container: It was approved that Sue Lindsay check the cost of a video camera for use by instructors and students in classes. A secure heatproof container will be checked into as well.

Tunnels: It was moved, seconded, and voted on to purchase three new show quality tunnels for K9X.

There was discussion on obtaining our own ring gates for use at trials and shows.

AKC Labor Day Trial:

We have one judge on board, and Wade is working hard to sign up a second judge.

Games Day:

Jane Trainham suggested a games day be held on Saturday, April 30, followed by a casual lunch or picnic at the field.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 p.m.
