Training Report Training is going well. The next beginner class will start June 21st. The intermediate class will be moved to Thursday nights for the summer and the 2 classes will be combined into one class. The games day was a huge success!
New Members: We welcome, Anya Darrow, Jaime Davis, Linda Doering, Sally Horton, Sue Lindsay, Troy Tyner and Tasha Tyner as our seven new members.
Important Dates Next meeting will be July 20th at Tricia Hastings home at 7PM.
NADAC/ASCA/AMBOR Trial Report: Trial went very well. The final numbers are profit of $911 for the Kathryn Horn seminar, $2959 for the trial which is a total of $3870.45 for the weekend.
AKC Trial Report: The trial preparations are going well. The show opens for entries June 23rd! The show will be September 4 6th. John will ask Jimmy to go to Triple Crown a couple of weeks before the show to look at the equipment and ensure that everything is up to specifications.
Mulch: It was decided that we will use Deborah Tolars contact (who is the same person that we got the last bit of mulch from) for the addition of mulch to the entire agility field. For approx $5800 they will mow, apply round up (we opted against this), set a weed liner, apply the mulch and pack the mulch. The exact date will be announced and member assistance will be required to move the equipment off the field and on to the Wikazri field and then replace the equipment after the mulch has been set. Sheri moved that we use Deborahs contact with the bid of $5875 for mulch, liner and packing so long as they used a natural method of killing the weeds and grass. Caroline seconded motion passed Tricia will coordinate.
Dog Walk: We cannot buy new planks as the dog walk that we have is no longer being produced. Lori has done some research and a new dog walk will be from $785 - $985 depending on features. The biggest concern is if we purchase a dog walk with wheels how well it will move on the mulch. Tricia moved that we postpone dog walk discussions until after the mulch has been laid and we see how the AFrame moves with its wheels over the mulch. Sheri seconded and the motion passed. This will be addressed next meeting.
Rebar Weave Poles: We are still waiting to hear from the manufacturer of the weave poles. We will continue to work on the order.
Tunnel: The blue tunnel is dangerous and will no longer be used Jaime moved that we purchase a heavy duty 20 foot Rocket Tunnel, Tricia seconded - motion passed Caroline will purchase.
Tunnel Holders: Shari will talk with Becky about tunnel holders, straps and sand bags and report back to the board.
Membership Applications: Shari will add to the list of things that new members are willing to do for the club attend meetings. Quorums are getting harder and harder to get and it is very important that as many members as possible attend meetings.
Tellington TTouch Seminar: To be hosted by Kathy Cascade and an assistant at Triple Crown at the next available time for both the presenter and the facility. The seminar will NOT be a money maker. A motion was made that we hold the seminar at Triple Crown (for AC and heating reasons) and that Kathy Cascade and an assistant be the presenters. Mary seconded motion passed. Jaime will coordinate with Marys help.
NADAC Trial: Next year's trial committee needs to be formed. Please email Kim if you are interested in being on the committee. The trial will be held March 11th 13th with a seminar on Friday at the Hays County Civic Center in San Marcos.
Board Member Nominating Committee: Jaime is the chair; Suzanne and Mary are on the committee with Frank as alternate. If you are interested or know a member who is, in serving on the board next year please notify a committee member by the 24th of May.
Rules: The rules of Wikazri and the Agility Field will be resent with the next meeting agenda to all members. Please read and follow them for the safety of all dogs and people on the fields.
Wikazri Lease: The lease is up for renewal July 1st. Kim and Cynthia want us to remain tenants, they do not want to mow the agility field any longer as it is very difficult with all of the equipment on the field, this will become a non issue after the mulch is down. It was also mentioned by the membership to increase the amount that we are paying to Wikazri. Kim & Cynthia will send a renewal proposal to the board by the end of May and the board will review and take action.
At 9:20 Jaime moved to adjourn, Cynthia seconded motion passed.
Respectfully Submitted by Jaime Margiotta
